Brexiteer True Believers will not want to own the compromise we will need to make with our strong hand of cards, and Europhiles will not want to own the brexit. He appears to be more thoughtful than Johnson, and possibly more engaged with his current brief, but don’t forget that it’s the party membership that decide. As soon as they feel threatened by the cold economics of recovery, his star will wane.

Unless you think that they could have magicked up thousands more ICU nurses between March and November this year? Nursing is a profession that takes several years to qualify in, and ICU nursing is a specialism within that profession. This is a sensible and pragmatic - and brave - move by NHS bosses, who will be the ones who get it in the neck from the morally bankrupt and unethical government when, as will surely happen, one person dies when they're being cared for on a split ICU.

Of course there aren't enough ICU nurses, the EU ones have left in their thousands... that is the Gov't's doing.

I understand the move to nursing degrees was instigated by the last Labour government.
