Who would want to take over from Johnson?

China shop rules are "You break it, you own it" .
When I see a clumsy idiot topple over a vase in a shop I dont rush to buy the pieces. Brexiteer True Believers will not want to own the compromise we will need to make with our strong hand of cards, and Europhiles will not want to own the brexit. I dont see any Conservatives eager to strp into Boris shoes.

I’m sorry but you should vote, it’s a democratic right denied in many countries. We should all vote.
I used to agree with that, but now I believe it only if there is a "none of the above" option.

It is no great privilege to be allowed to choose the least bad.

Don't you believe it. You just watch Gove, Hancock or Raab elbowing each other out of the way.

Boris, given his knack of winning elections, may be given another go.

If not, the boy Sunak seems to be made of the right stuff.

At least we have that choice, and also have the right to stand for election yourself if you feel strongly enough that you would do a better job.
I am under no illusions that I would make a good politician.

It is a pity that more politicians don’t have the same understanding of their own abilities.

Having the right to do something does not mean you have to do it.

I case anyone thought that Hancock and Johnson had justifiable priorities... giving billions to Serco to not run a Test and Trace while NHS Trusts' ICU nurses have to choose which patients to treat in an emergency...

one-one-nursing-care-for-intensive-care-patients-suspended

This Government is failing with its most basic decision-making and is morally bankrupt and unethical... how people can justify supporting their actions beggars belief.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

The Government is failing with its most basic decision-making and is morally bankrupt and unethical. But this isn't an example. Unless you think that they could have magicked up thousands more ICU nurses between March and November this year? Nursing is a profession that takes several years to qualify in, and ICU nursing is a specialism within that profession. This is a sensible and pragmatic - and brave - move by NHS bosses, who will be the ones who get it in the neck from the morally bankrupt and unethical government when, as will surely happen, one person dies when they're being cared for on a split ICU.

The right wing media get given a name and the whole country runs with it - that's the long and short of it, in recent times thats given us Cameron, May (FFS !!!!!) , and Johnson - where you put your X once every four years is becoming more and more of a sideshow.

The Government withdrew nursing bursaries which has caused a massive understaffing problem, charged non-UK nursing staff for visas, required all nurses to have degrees [removing the SEN nursing level] and then charged nursing students the full £9p.a. fees, while expecting them to work instead of studying.... and continued to do all of this during the pandemic. Of course there aren't enough ICU nurses, the EU ones have left in their thousands... that is the Gov't's doing.

I understand the move to nursing degrees was instigated by the last Labour government.
