Hi,
I haven't been in the cycling loop for a few years.
Can you advise if an iPhone can be used in some sort of set-up re: cadence distance etc.
Thanks

Yes but ...
There are quite a few apps that will record your track, distance, speed and elevation. Cadence, however, is a bit trickier (not to mention less interesting, IMO)
Cadence, heart rate and other sensors are generally ANT+ or Bluetooth (or both). ANT+ tends to be used by dedicated GPS units but not all phones (Not iphones unless you use a special dongle, Samsung phones do though, as reported by
@fossyant ) Bluetooth tends to be used by phones (and some GPS units). So the connection link used by the particular cadence sensor dictates whether it will work with your phone.
I have read that the RideWithGPS app does pair up with Bluetooth cadence sensors and Heart Rate Monitors. So theoretically, yes it can be done.

But personally I've never done it and it probably depends on the specific sensors.
If you're not fussed about cadence or other sensors like heart rate then there are a number of apps that will do distance, speed etc. Probably the two most popular are Strava, as mentioned above, and RideWithGPS that I've been wittering on about.
