From the point of view of living in an EU country, it has certainly put paid to local discussion of EU exit. Whilst there is criticism of the EU, and my sense is that might be on the rise, "remain" numbers are as high as they have ever been.

It has crossed my mind that being more fleet of foot than a lumbering EU could be an advantage (no, not the the vaccine!), I would say we'd need a different attitude than one that accepts breaking international law and isolationism, but being truly outward looking and welcoming, with an internationalist government at the helm...
